Obon Festival 2025 Makawao-Style
THANKS to the tremendous teamwork of our temple members, friends, and affiliates in the Judo Club, Cub Pack 18, Scout Troop 18, Scout Troop 180 and Jr. YBA, Makawao Hongwanji celebrated Obon on July 25 and 26 in local style.
An abundance of our favorite foods was prepared by the countless hands described in Rev. Kerry Kiyohara’s message for the August newsletter.
Cy Yoshizu served as our peerless DJ/MC again this year. Maui Taiko joined us on both nights drumming to the dance music. Friday intermission entertainment was by Maui Taiko and Saturday intermission entertainment was by Zenshin Daiko.
